Hobbies :
Aside from bending neurons and formulas on the daily, I also greatly enjoy twisting my body, being challenged with balance, working the connections between body and mind, and perception of space, acrobatics and so on... I have practised tumbling, skate-boarding, snow-boarding, rock climbing, and most lately, capoeira angola for the past 10 years (at the Capoeira Angola Center of Mestre Joao Grande) and yoga...
Manual activities are also a big hobby, and I enjoy doing origami, especially modular origami and tesselations. I would recommend the outstanding works of Eric Gjerde, Erik Demaine, Yureiko, Joel Cooper, Jun Maekawa, Robert Lang among others. If you want to see what people are nowadays capable of as well as the range of applications of origami, check out the Between the Folds documentary.
Here's some of the stuff that I made:
Other crafty stuff that I enjoy: weaving caxixis or making berimbaus for capoeira.
I enjoy music a lot and played the trombone for 10 years.
