The final exam is tomorrow, Friday August 21,
10:50am-11:50am in room CMU B006 (the same room the lectures were held in
this quarter). You are allowed 1 sheet of handwritten notes (front and
back) and a scientific calculator (NOT graphing).
August 15
NOTE: there is a mistake in the homework solutions I passed out on Friday: in the solution to HW2 2a, the error bound should have a (1/3) in it. Let me know if you find other errors.
August 4
The third quiz is this Thursday. It will cover tangent planes and linear approximations (section 14.4), and finding maximum and minimum values (section 14.7).
July 26
Statistics from the first midterm:
If you have a problem with how your exam was graded, bring it to my attention by this Friday, July 31. July 14
The second quiz is this Thursday, July 16. It will cover sections 12.6 and 10.2.
Know how to find the equation of a surface, given a relation that the points satisfy (look at
problems 45 and 46 from section 12.6). Also, know how to find an equation of the tangent to a parametric curve at a given point
(look at problems 3-6 from section 10.2).
Also, remember that the hw assignments for this class are posted at this website (assignments), and NOT at the Math 126 materials website (my assignments are generally shorter). July 12
The first midterm will cover sections up to and including section 13.2.June 30
