- Announced 6/1/2007: If you want to come pick up your final, I will be in my office on Tuesday, 6/5, from 2 to 4 p.m.
- Announced 6/1/2007: There's a mistake in one of the answers on the Sample
Final. The answer to #2(c) was incorrect as originally posted. I've corrected the file and the one that's currently posted is correct.
- Announced 5/29/2007: Here's the sample final. Answers are included.
- Announced 5/25/2007: The final exam will be held on Saturday, June 2, from
1:30 to 4:20 p.m. in MOR 221. The final exam will be cumulative, written to take about two hours (but you will have three hours to complete the test). You may use a scientific calculator and one 8.5-by-11-inch sheet of notes on the exam. I will post a sample final soon.
- Announced 5/14/2007: Here is the sample
exam. Answers are included.
- Announced 5/12/2007: I made a mistake in Wednesday's lecture. If
a≠1, then the general solution of the difference equation
xn+1=axn+b is xn=Can+b/(1-a),
for some constant C.
Sorry for any confusion this may cause.
- Announced 5/12/2007: The second midterm exam is this Thursday in
quiz section. It will cover everything we've done since the last midterm
(starting with homework 3). You will be allowed to use a scientific
calculator (no graphing calculators) and one 8.5-by-11-inch sheet
of handwritten notes on the exam. A sample exam is on the way.
- Announced 4/15/2007: The first midterm exam is this Thursday in
quiz section. It will cover everything we've done so far this term.
You will be allowed to use a scientific calculator (no graphing calculators)
and one 8.5-by-11-inch sheet of handwritten notes on the exam. Here
is a Sample Exam (hints and answers
are included in this file).
- Announced 4/2/2007: In the homework due this Wednesday, you should
be doing problems from Section 51, not Section 55. I've made the change on
the homework schedule.
