The
Mathematics
Department welcomes Graduate Nonmatriculated students who have sufficient
mathematical background to begin taking courses at the 400-level
or higher.
Graduate
Nonmatriculated
(GNM) is a classification for students who already have bachelor's
degrees and are not currently seeking a graduate degree. A minimum
grade-point-average of 3.0 in the last 90 quarter (60 semester)
graded credits is required for consideration. GNM students may
apply
a maximum of 12 graduate-level credits (any combination of GNM
credits
and transfer credits) toward degree requirements should they be
accepted into a graduate program. It is important to note that
acceptance
as a GNM student does not imply admission to a graduate degree
program.
GNM status is not available to persons who will be holding F-1
visas.
Financial support is not available to GNM students.
If you're planning to take courses only at the
400-level or lower, and will not need to count them toward a UW
graduate degree, you might consider undergraduate
non-degree enrollment instead, because the tuition is less
expensive.
