Math 527: Functional Analysis
Gunther Uhlmann
Autumn 1999, MWF 12:30-1:20
This will be a standard course in Functional Analysis. The main purpose
of the course will be to prove the spectral theorem for unbounded operators.
Applications to the spectral theory of differential and partial differential
operators will be given.
Prerequisite: Real Analysis (Math 524/5/6) or Linear Analysis
(Math 554/5/6).
Reference: I will use the book by M. Reed and B. Simon,
Methods of Mathematical Physics, Vol. I, Functional Analysis.
