Math 583DA
Quantum Mechanics

Spring 2003, Monday/Wednesday/Friday 11:30-12:20
This will be a mathematically rigorous account of the foundations of the
subject and will lay the groundwork for future courses in mathematical
physics, e.g., Quantum Field Theory and Quantum Gravity. As a text, I would
recommend Hilbert Space Operators in Quantum Physics by J. Blank
et al. This is an excellent book. It treats the essentials in
a very clear and transparent manner, so the student who masters the
material will have no difficulty in coming to grips with the latest
developments in the field. I shall also provide typed notes to the class
that will supplement the book in various areas.
