Conformal Geometry
Robin Graham
Autumn 2004/Winter 2005, Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 1:30
This course will cover the differential geometry of conformal
structures in three and higher dimensions, focusing primarily on local
geometry. The topics will begin with such classical considerations as the
Weyl conformal curvature tensor and Liouville's Theorem characterizing the
conformal transformations of flat space, and will lead to some of the
recent and current developments in the field.
Prerequisites:
A good working knowledge of Riemannian geometry.
