The Math Department Colloquium, meeting
weekly or biweekly during the academic year, features expository talks
by research mathematicians on current topics of broad interest to all faculty
and grad students in the department

Current Topics in Mathematics, meeting
weekly throughout the year, is a forum for introducing first- and second-year
graduate students to current research topics, open problems, and other
issues of interest to the mathematical profession. Talks are given
by UW Math faculty and advanced graduate students.

The Applied and Computational Mathematical
Sciences Seminar, meeting biweekly throughout the year, is a series
of talks on the applications of mathematics, intended to be accessible
to undergraduates and beginning graduate students
Regional Conferences
The UW Math Department is a sponsor and
active participant in a number of regular regional conferences, which generally
meet one or two times per year, and many of which are supported by the
Pacific Institute for the
Mathematical Sciences.
