Applying: Required tests

Scores for all required tests must be sent by Educational Testing Service (ETS) to the University of Washington using the institution code 4854. Use also, the Math department code 0703 for the GRE score and the Math department code 72 for the TOEFL score.

Graduate Record Exams (GRE) General Test: All applicants except those holding earned doctorates from accredited U.S. institutions must submit official scores for the GRE General Test – verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing (or, if the test was taken before October 2002, verbal, quantitative, and analytical).

Graduate Record Exams (GRE) Subject Test: The GRE Subject Test in Mathematics is required for PhD applicants, and is recommended for Master's applicants.

English Proficiency for International Students: Additional tests are required for international students to demonstrate English language and spoken English proficiency. Go to International Applicants for further information.
