What they do: Andy studies client data and decides what to charge customers based on the information provided. He also constructs equity management plans, and studies on cost of service, depriciation and rate cases.
Andy's background:
- Andy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in Autumn 2012
- Andy was inspired to pursue a degree in math by a middle school teacher. That teacher encouraged and challenged him to reach to new levels of math comprehension that previously seemed unattainable.
- Andy particularly enjoyed Professor Monty McGovern during his time as a math major. He highly recommends taking a class with Professor McGovern if possible.
Math on the job:
- Andy uses math in modeling data,calculating rates and recognizing patterns in data.
Advice for students:
- Although math classes can be very difficult (especially at the 400-level), Andy advises students to stay positive and work hard because it is worth it in the end.
