What he does:
- Tracy works as a graduate student in the Department of Physics. Officially, he is an RA.
Math on the job:
- He uses his math training a lot in classes. Some of his research involves modeling, but lately his work is more on the experimental side.
Tracy's background:
- Tracy graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Mathematics - Comprehensive and Physics, in Spring, 2004. In Autumn 2005, he earned a Master of Science in Physics.
- Tracy first became interested in studying mathematics when he took the Math 334-5-6 series, the second year accelerated calculus sequence, with Prof. Jim Morrow.
Advice for students:
- Tracy recommends that all math majors take a programming or numerical methods course. He feels computer skills are essentially universal in their applicability.
