What they do:
- Jason is an adjunct faculty member at Olympic college where he teaches algebra.
- He plans to move to Connecticut to start dental school. After that, he plans to enter an MD oral surgery redicency. He wants to continue teaching math part-time.
Math on the job:
- Jason teaches algebra.
Jason's background:
- Jason received his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in Spring, 2009 .
- He pursued a degree in mathematics to expand his mathematical knowledge and to satisfy his own curiosity. He doesn't plan to pursue the field to any greater extent, but will continue a life-long involvement with math
- Jason says he has always found mathematics and science intriguing. He discoverd that health care was the direcction he most wanted to go with as a career. However, he still loves math and as a result, decided to major in it in addition to his occupational relevant coursework. The curiousity and quest for knowledge brought him to math, along with the pure enjoyment of the subject.
Advice for students:
- Don't overrate study groups. They help alot, especially if you can be the one doing the explaining.
