      Note: Math 134, 135, 136 Accelerated (Honors) Calculus (15 credits) may be substituted for Math 124, 125, 126, 307 and 308/318.
      Math 334, 335, 336 Second Year Accelerated (Honors ) Advanced Calculus (15) may be substituted for Math 300, 309, 324, 326, 327, 328, and 427.

    Advanced Mathematics Core (21 credits):

At least seven courses must be taken from the following list, spread among at least three different areas and including at least two two-quarter sequences.

    Area

    Course
    Algebra 402/3/4
    Analysis 424/5/6
    Geometry 441/2/3
    Other Analysis 307/9, 427/8/9, 435/6, 438/9
    Probability 394/5/6, 491/2
    Other Mathematics 381, 407/8/9, 461/2, 464/5/6

    Electives (12 credits):

Four additional mathematics courses, including a two-quarter sequence at the 300 or 400 level, with teacher-preparation courses disallowed. With permission from a matematics advisor, two of the four electives can be chosen from courses in related departments such as AMath, Statistics, and Computer Science. Students who are double majoring in another department may be able to count two of their advanced courses in their second major towards the math elective requirements. Please see an advisor for more information about this. Courses from the additional mathematics core sequences that aren't used to fulfill the core requirement can be used to fulfill the elective requirement.
