Students who wish to waive the Math 170 requirement for the Initial Teaching Certification Program, Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers, may take the Math 170 Exemption Test. There is a handout available outside C-36 Padelford which provides all the information you need to prepare for this test. The Exemption Test is offered throughout the academic year, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m and 5 p.m., in the Mathematics Research Library, C-306 Padelford. During quarter breaks, the exam hours will be shortened to the afternoon hours of 1 p.m - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. There is no fee and no credit will be given should you pass the exam. You will have two chances to pass the test and will be given one hour and fifty minutes to complete the exam. Notes and calculators will not be required or allowed. You can schedule an exam date by contacting the Student Services Office, 543-6830, C-36 Padelford. We ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice prior to setting an exam date. Please allow one week for exam results, which will be available in the Student Services Office. |
