Ground Rules for Taking Math 120 Common Final

When and Where:.
The final exam for Math 120 will be on Saturday, June 4, 2005 from 1:30 pm until 4:20pm. The room where your class takes the final exam will be listed at the bottom of this sheet after the 10th day of the quarter.

Alternatives:
Petitions forms for alternatives to the common final are available in the Mathematics Advising Office, C-36 Padelford and should be filed by Friday, May 13. Petitions are usually granted only for religious reasons. Petitions are sometimes granted for reasons of health or extraordinary circumstances of grave personal import. In such cases, the instructor should be contacted in advance, and appropriate written documentation should be provided when filing the petition. Approval of petitions is not automatic. Plans for sporting events, travel, or work on exam day, etc., do not constitute extraordinary circumstances.

What:
These exams are written jointly by the instructors and graded jointly by the instructors and TAs. Check with your instructor for further information.

Preparing for the Final:
This is a closed book exam. You should bring a calculator to the exam: a scientific calculator is sufficient, but graphing calculators are allowed. You may bring one handwritten 8.5 x 11 sheet of notes; writing is allowed on both sides.

I.D.:
You should bring your student I.D. to the exam. You may be asked for personal identification that has your photo on it. (These can be obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles whether or not you have a driver's license.)

Picking Up the Final:
Your instructor or TA will inform you of the procedure for picking up your final exam after it is graded.
