Admission
A minimum grade of 2.0 and a GPA of at least 2.50 is required in the following set of courses: CSE 142, MATH 124, 125, 126, one of MATH 307, 308, 300, AMATH 351, 352.
Advanced Placement: Students with a score of AP-3 or AP-4 on the AB test or of 3 on the BC test are excused from the MATH 124 requirement; students with a score of AP-5 on the Math AB test or of AP-4 or AP-5 on the Math BC test are excused from the MATH 125 requirement. Courses for which students obtain advanced placement credit are not included in the computation of the GPA.
Accelerated (Honors) Calculus: The sequence MATH 134, 135, 136 may be substituted for MATH 124, 125, 126 and MATH 307, 308.
Students may apply at any time. Application forms for admission to the major are available in the ACMS Advising Office.
Students are expected to make satisfactory progress in the program each quarter. Those who do not may be placed on probation and perhaps dismissed from the major.
