Protein Structure and Function

Zach Frazier,

Samudrala Lab

I graduated in 2003 with with a degree in ACMS (Numerical Analysis track). Since then I have worked for the Samudrala Lab ( http://compbio.washington.edu/ ) in the Microbiology department as a scientific programmer. I have worked on the Bioverse ( http://bioverse.compbio.washington.edu/ ) and most recently on some protein structure prediction. I will give an overview of the Samudrala lab, and the problems we are working on. In particular the Bioverse which allows the exploration of relationships between proteins, and provides analysis and predictions of protein structure and function. And RAMP, a suite of programs used in the modeling of protein three-dimensional structure.
