Sage: A Tool for the Practicing Mathematician
Craig Citro, Graduate Student
UW Department of Mathematics
Abstract: I'll give an introduction to Sage, which aims to be a free and open source alternative to Magma, Mathematica, Maple, and Matlab. I'll talk about how far along we are on this lofty goal, and how you can get involved in Sage development and math research. I'll also talk about some of the interesting tools that have been developed as part of the Sage project, such as Cython.
