Roger Myerson attended Harvard University, where he received a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and, in 1976, a Ph.D. in applied mathematics. Much of his career was spent at the Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. He has made major contributions to economics, applied mathematics, and political science, for which he has been awarded numerous honors. In 2007, Professor Myerson received the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Science for "having laid the foundations of mechanism design theory." He currently is the Glen A. Lloyd Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago.
