Subject: Microsoft looking for Linear Algebraists and Optimizers

Hi All,

The Microsoft Solver Foundation Group is currently looking for a senior software engineer with:

Please forward this information to your M.Sc. and Ph.D. students, and if they're interested they should send their resume and cover letter to:

Min Wei (enable JavaScript to view email)
Principal Director of Engineering
Microsoft Solver Foundation Group

Here are 3 of the problems we are dealing with every day:

  1. Solve this equation: Ax = b where A could be up to 1M x 10M matrix but very sparse, x is a vector of real variables, b is a (sparse) vector of numbers.
  2. Now to extend #1 by adding a goal, such as minimize (c^T)*x where c is a vector of numbers. Solve x.
  3. Now to extend #2 by restricting some of x as integer variables? Solve x again.

Also, I'd be happy to give anyone feedback on their resume before they send it.

Thanks!
