Math Study Center Job Information

The Math Study Center hires Tutors and Desk Assistants. See below for more information about these jobs. We do most of our hiring for the year in August, before school starts. However, it is worth while contacting us at the end of each quarter since positions do occasionally open up. People with Work Study are encouraged to apply at any time.

Tutors

Qualifications:

  • Be a currently enrolled UW student
  • Have a stong understanding of math through Math 126 (Calc III)
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Be interested in working with people
  • Be sensitive to student difficulties with math
  • Preference will be given to applicants with Work Study
Benefits:

  • The first step to getting a job is to take a math test covering material from Math 120 & 124/5/6. Contact Patrick to arrange a time to take the test.


Desk Assistants

Qualifications:

  • Be a currently enrolled UW student
  • Be reliable and have good people skills
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Preference will be given to applicants with Work Study
