The statistics for Exam 1 are:
- Median: 50.5 out of 60 (84.2%) (an improvement of over 8% points from the first exam!)
- Quartiles: 47, 50.5 and 54 (78.3%, 84.2%, 90%).
- The high score is 61 out of 60 (1 student), there were 2 exams of 60 out of 60 (and 20 students above 90%).
- A rough midterm grade has been posted (this update included the second exam and the second write-up, it is the first update to the grades since the first exam).

- Announced 12/1/2010: Here are the write up 2 solutions (I know the solutions are upside down! Because my papers had a rip in a corner, I had to feed my solutions into my scanner upside down. Most pdf viewers will let you rotate the view or you can just print it off, sorry.). In addition, I have posted a review for sections 4.4 and 4.5.
- Announced 11/24/2010: Due to weather, the university closed campus on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 23rd and 24th. As a result our second midterm has been moved to Tuesday, Nov. 30th. There are no other changes to the course. I have announced all of this through email as well.
- Announced 11/19/2010: Here is an overview of 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3. 4.3 is the last section that could appear on our second midterm.

Our Webassign representatives, Eric and Eric, have offered to hold an optional orientation to Webassign for any interested parties on Thursday, September 30, in Smith 102. Drop by any time between 3:30 and 5:00 p.m. for a brief presentation and/or personal assistance.
You'll need an access code for Webassign in order
to get the homework. You can purchase a code in three ways:
- bundled with the textbook at the University Bookstore.

Some notes about the first week of the quarter:
- You will complete a worksheet in quiz section on Thursday of this week. You are responsible for bringing a copy of the worksheet (For this week, get the "Circles and Tangents Worksheet" which is part of week 1) to quiz section. See the "Math 124 materials website" link on the right-hand sidebar for this and all subsequent worksheets. Worksheets count toward the "Participation" portion of your grade.
- Your first homework assignment is due at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5. Log in to Webassign to see this and all subsequent homework assignments. (How To Use Webassign)
- You are allowed 5 attempts at each answer in Webassign (except for T/F and multiple choice questions, for which you are allowed one try).
