• Announced 11/30/2011: Note the new postings including a Week 8 overview: 4.4-4.5 and a Week 9 overview: 4.7, also solutions to the exam are in the exam archive.
• Announced 11/14/2011: At the right of the page you will find an overview of 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3 We will be discussing these chapters this week. Also note the previous posted sheet about mutually tangent lines which should help with a homework problem due tomorrow (this was written by Dr. Matt Conroy, thanks matt).
• Announced 11/2/2011: Here are the Exam 1 Solutions. Statistics and grade information was announced via email and in class. A rough midterm grade is up now. Also, make sure to check out the new postings at the right of the page including:

  • 3.9: Related Rates gives an overview of the approach to related rates problems.

• Announced 9/21/2011: Your first homework assignment is due at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4. Log in to Webassign to see this and all subsequent homework assignments.
  
  You'll need an access code for Webassign in order to get the homework. You can purchase a code in three ways:
  • bundled with the textbook at the University Bookstore.
  • buy a standalone copy at the bookstore ($100).
  • go online to the publisher and by a code ($70). The publishers website is: http://www.cengagebrain.com/micro/uwmathcalc. You can read more about this on the math 124 departmental course website.
• Announced 9/22/2010: Welcome to Math 124. This webpage contains the course syllabus, the homework schedule, a course calendar and links to Math 124 material. Throughout the quarter I will be posting numerous review sheets and announcements. Please check back regularly.
  
  Some notes about the first week of the quarter:
  • You will complete a worksheet in quiz section on Thursday of this week. You are responsible for bringing a copy of the worksheet (For this week, get the "Circles and Tangents Worksheet" which is part of week 1) to quiz section. See the "Math 124 materials website" link on the right-hand sidebar for this and all subsequent worksheets. Worksheets count toward the "Participation" portion of your grade.
  • Your first homework assignment is due at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4. Log in to Webassign to see this and all subsequent homework assignments. (How To Use Webassign)
  • You are allowed 5 attempts at each answer in Webassign (except for T/F and multiple choice questions, for which you are allowed one try).
