Announced 12/5/2009: Here is the last bit of review material for the quarter:
- Chapters 8.3, 9.1, 9.3, 9.4/3.8 Review.
- A final review checklist.
Announced 11/23/2009: Here are the Midterm 2 Solutions.
- The grades are online.
- The median for Midterm 2 was 42 out of 50 (84 percent).
- The quartiles are 35, 42, and 47 out of 50 (So one-fourth of the class scored above 47 out of 50). These scores coorespond to GPA scores of 1.9, 2.9, and 3.9 respectively.
- Thus the exam was more than fair.
- The final exam tends to be more difficult because it is comprehensive. Thus if you wish to maintain a good grade (or improve a low grade), then you really need to spend a lot of time preparing for the final exam.

- Review of 7.7 and 7.8 (pdf). You are expected to know 7.7 for exam 2, but 7.8 material will NOT appear on Exam 2.

Announced 10/2/2009: I will post several review sheets throughout the term, so check back frequently. Here is my first group of postings (they can also be found at the lower right part of this page):
- List of Basic Antiderivatives: This is the overhead from the 4.9 Lecture. Currently, our only integration techinique is to simplify the function algebraically into a sum of functions in this table. With our current methods, we can only find antiderivatives of sums and constant multiples of functions that look EXACTLY like the functions in this table.
- Riemann Sums (pdf): This is a copy of a couple of the overheads from my 5.1 lecture concerning approximating rectangles. In addition, it includes most of the solution to problem 5.1/22 on the second page.
- Calculus I Review (pdf): Contains a table of the basic derivatives, the basic derivative applications, and finishes with a review of trig and algebra (you received a copy if you attended Thursday's quiz section).
