EXPLANATION OF MIDTERM GRADE COMPUTATION

Here is an explanation of how your grade is calculated: Think of the course as a total of 100 points.

Homework	12	YOUR HOMEWORK PERCENTAGE	=YOUR HOMEWORK SCORE
Exam 1	25	YOUR EXAM 1 PERCENTAGE	=YOUR EXAM 1 SCORE
Exam 2	25	YOUR EXAM 2 PERCENTAGE	=YOUR EXAM 2 SCORE
Final Exam	35	YOUR FINAL EXAM PERCENTAGE	=YOUR FINAL EXAM SCORE
TOTAL	100		YOUR TOTAL OUT OF 100

YOUR COURSE PERCENTAGE = YOUR TOTAL

This is the percentage that I look for on the grade scale to give you your grade.

WORKSHEETS If you missed one worksheet day, you still received full worksheet credit. Missing more than this, will lose you points in increments of 0.5.

HOMEWORK For your final homework score, we eliminate the lowest scores.

YOUR HOMEWORK PERCENTAGE = (HIGHEST 7 HOMEWORK SCORES) / 105 * 100 PERCENT

EXAM The first and second exams are each weighted as 25 points (see your syllabus).

YOUR EXAM PERCENTAGE = (YOUR EXAM SCORE) / 50 * 100 PERCENT

FINAL EXAM The final exam is weighted at 35 points (see your syllabus).

YOUR FINAL EXAM PERCENTAGE = (YOUR EXAM SCORE) PERCENT
