Final exam information for Math 309A, Autumn 2012

Time and place: 2:30-4:20 Wednesday, Dec. 12, in the usual classroom, CMU 230.

Office hours before the exam in my office (PDL C338):
Sunday 12/9, 3:30-5 PM. These office hours are primarily for my 427 class, which has its exam on Monday.
Tuesday 12/11, 11-1 PM, and later in the afternoon by appointment.

BRING PAPER TO DO YOUR WORK ON (or if you prefer, a bluebook). The problems will be listed on one sheet, with no room to work, because the space needed for the chapter 10 problems varies so much between students. Short Table of Fourier Series will be given on the test. (The page of formulas will be identical to that on my final last spring, see FExSp12.PDF here.) Otherwise, general information, rules for notes, etc. will be the same as for midterm, see Midterm information page.

Study suggestions

• First, do all of the last homework assignment (Homework 10 for this week, not collected).
• List of recommended review problems, including the spring, 2012, sample final, FExSp12.PDF here. Correction: For final au10.pdf sample final, recommended problems are 1, 2, 4 (not 3), and 5 (and 6 is OK too). Prof. Monard has posted solutions for these.
• Solutions for some of the review problems are available in the back of the book, or on the files page linked above. More will be posted there or here when and if available.
