Class schedule and summaries for Math 324A, Autumn 2011
This page has plans for future classes, including quiz and test dates,
and brief summaries of past classes.
Ideally, you will look over the sections to be covered in class
before coming to class. Then you will have some idea of the basics,
and will be able to focus on, or maybe even ask questions about,
the points which are hardest for you.
Note: The plans for future classes are subject to revision at any time.
The summaries of past classes are not a complete replacement for
attending class, but rather alert you to what you missed.
After reading the summary and the corresponding sections of the book,
see a classmate or instructor if you have questions.

- W 9/28: Summary of discussion of what helps with learning math:
(1) Lots of worked examples; (2) But also pay attention to the general case,
the big ideas; (3) Feedback on work, indicating what was OK and what was wrong;
(4) Be active in lecture, taking notes, thinking, and asking questions;
(5) Start homework early so there's time to get help.

sin2θ and cos2θ. Started §15.5.

- W 10/12: Quiz 2 on §15.6. You will be asked to set up (but
not evaluate) a triple integral. Sample quiz posted on
quiz and test info page by Monday 10/10.

- W 10/19: Review, and apply §15.9 ideas to some topics
for after the midterm.
