Math 307 D: Differential Equations

- The Calendar has been modified to match our current schedule.
- There will be a fourth QUIZ on December 2, 2011. It will cover from 3.7-6.3 I've decided to give a fourth quiz so that way you can get feedback on the last topics before the final. That way you have a better chance to do well in the Final which is worth 40% of the grade. The quiz grades (the %25) will be distributed among the 4 quizzes. 4 % Quiz 1 and %7 each for Quiz 2-4
- Homework has been updated and distributed among the weeks that we have left. Check the due dates as they are not always the same day of the week.
Introduction
From the book: "...intrinsic interest of the subject itself is enough motivation, but for most it is the likelihood of important applications to other fields that makes the understanding worthwhile. Many of the principles, or laws, underlying the behavior of the natural world are statements or relations involving rates at which things happen. When expressed in mathematical terms, the relations are equations and the rates are derivatives. Equations containing derivatives are differential equations ."
