Textbooks
The textbooks are Calculus, by Stewart, Vol.2, sixth edition, and the Taylor Notes (TN).
If you have the fifth edition of Stewart, the theory is the same, so it works anyway. The exercises will be different, but the complete list of the problems of Stewart, sixth edition, can be found here.

Homework
Homework is collected on Wednesday (with the exception of the first week), and you can find it on the calendar. Doing the homework - making your hands dirty with computations - is as important as studying.
Beware that the homework is different from the one on the Math 126 common website.

Quizzes
During the quarter, there will be two quizzes of 30 minutes each. These will be on Thursday, July 8th (on sections 12.1-12.7), and on Thursday, August 5th (on sections 14.1-14.4, 14.7). One sheet of notes is allowed. If you skip a quiz, talk with me (the instructor).

Exams
There will be a midterm and a final exam. Both exams will only be on materials we have seen in the lectures. This means that you do not have to worry about learning formulas in the textbook unless I mention them in class. On the other hand, in the lectures I may mention a result not in the textbook, and you will be expected to know that result.
If you have a compelling, unavoidable, and well-documented reason for missing an exam (or part of it), talk with me (the instructor) as soon as possible.
For both exams, you can bring a scientific calculator, but NOT a graphic one. One handwritten sheet of notes is also allowed (one-sided). And remember to bring your student ID.
The midterm will be Thursday, July 22nd, in the quiz section (12:00-1:00, SIG 227), and will cover up to section 13.4 (more or less).
The final will be in two parts: the first part on Thursday, August 19th, in the quiz section (12:00-1:00, SIG 227); the second part will be on Friday, August 20th, instead of the lecture (12:00-1:00, SIG 227).

Grades
The final grade will be based on homework, quizzes and exams, in the following proportion:
Homework10%
Quizzes15%
Midterm35%
Final40%
