Important Information

  • How to estimate your grade so far:
    • Step 1: Calculate

      P=0.0240(Sum of 7 homeworks) + 0.3(midterm1+midterm2) + 0.125(quiz1+quiz2)

    • Step 2: Plug P into this formula to get grade estimate

      Grade Estimate = 0.06 P -1.46

    • The number P is your percentage based on: 30% homework, 60% midterms, 10% quizzes. The grade is a linear function with 91=4.0 and 71=2.8. Grades above 4.0 are rounded to 4.0.
    • This formula does not factor in: the final exam, one quiz, two homeworks and the worksheet score. In calculating your real grade, some homework points are dropped, the low quiz is dropped and the low worksheet score is dropped. I did not factor these things into the estimate. Because of this, your grade could go up or down from the estimate. See the class syllabus for the precise description of how I will compute your course percentage.
