A simplicial complex for which every minimal non-face is a two element set is called a flag complex. While there is not a known characterization of the face numbers of flag complexes, I will discuss some results toward this. In particular, I will discuss the Charney-Davis conjecture, a linear inequality relating face numbers of flag complexes that are spheres, and some cases where it is known.
