Final exam scores and course grades are now posted to the grade record (link at right).
Final exam stats: 1st quartile: 70.75, Median: 82.5, 3rd quartile: 89, Max: 100.
If you would like to see your final exam, you can stop by any of my office hours next quarter. Just check here for my hours.
I will be out of town until 12/29, so I won't be able to answer any email until then.
Enjoy the break!
No class this Friday. Instead, I'll have office hours from 9:30-2:30 PM.
In addition to Nathaniel's review session listed below, there will also be a Math 111 review session at CLUE frmo 8:30 to 10 in MGH 251. I expect both sessions to be very useful, so try to attend one or both.
Nathaniel will be running a review session this Thursday, 5-7 PM in Thompson 119. If you go, be sure to thank him profusely for this "beyond the call" effort.
The grade record is posted. Have a look.
Sorry for the deley - the grade record should be posted tonight.

Here are some more complete statistics on the first midterm exam.

Here is a rough grade translation. These grade translations are only here to give you a sense of how you are doing relative to the rest of the class. I do not actually use these values in any calculations. Your exam grade is what it is and it will be combined with your other exam scores, according to the weights listed on the syllabus, to determine your overall course grade.
| exam score | approximate course grade |
| ≤28 | 0.0 |
| 29 | 0.7 |
| 32 | 1.3 |
| 35 | 1.8 |
| 38 | 2.4 |
| 41 | 2.9 |
| 44 | 3.2 |
| 47 | 3.4 |
| 50 | 3.7 |
| ≥53 | 4.0 |
Answers to the first midterm exam.
More exam 1 stats will follow, but for now I can report that the preliminary median is around 40 (out of 56). This would put the 0.0/0.7 cutoff at around a score of 28.
Solutions to the table of translations in the lecture that accompanied worksheet #7 are here.
Rememeber: the first midterm exam is this Thursday, October 20.
Here(pdf) is a list of topics to help you prepare to study for the exam.
Welcome to Math 111! Check this site often during the quarter for announcements, useful information and supplementary course materials.
You need to get the course pack for this course and bring it to every lecture (this will make the lectures much more useful for you). You can either get the pdf from the link under "Resources" on the right of this page, and print them out, or you can buy the whole thing pre-printed from the copy center at Odegaard Library.
