Have a good break!
Final exam stats:

| 3rd quartile | 69 |

Grading continues. I expect to have grades posted late Friday, but I won't be able to have office hours before the break for you to pick up the final exams. You are all welcome to stop by my office hours after the start of winter quarter.

Here is the current grade record.
Your grade information is listed under the last four digits of your student id number. Be sure to check that your scores have been recorded correctly. If you find an error, please bring it to the attention of your TA right away. Included is also an estimated course grade. This includes the course curve, and the dropping of your lowest homework score. Obviously it does not include the final exam: that can have a very large impact on your actual course grade.
Here are some partial statistics on the second midterm exam:
| n | 150 |
| 1st quartile | 24 |
| median | 28 |
| 3rd quartile | 32 |
| max | 40 (2 people) |
I will be posting a grade record later this week which will include an estimated course grade including both exams and the course curve.
Here are the answers to the second midterm exam.
We have a midterm next Thursday (November 16). Here is a review guide for you to help you start studying for the exam. Also, there are chapter 16 problems in the homework schedule that will not be collected but should be done before the midterm (in other words, they should be done as soon as possible).
Here is a short article about the women's world hour record setting ride I talked about in class today.
Also, the next homework is due this coming Thursday in quiz section, since Friday is a holiday. I said in lecture that it would be due Wednesday, but Thursday makes more sense.
Here is another example of how to graph a rational function.
Here are those rational function graph examples from today's lecture.
Here's some preliminary (I don't have all the data) stats on the first midterm:
| n | 106 |
| min | 6 |
| 1st quartile | 21 |
| median | 29 |
| 3rd quartile | 36 |
| max | 40 (5 people) |
Here is a rough grade translation table. I don't use this translation for anything: this is just to give you an idea what your grade might be if all it was based on was the first midterm:
| exam score | approx. grade equivalent |
| <20 | 0.0 |
| 20 | 0.7 |
| 25 | 1.9 |
| 30 | 3.0 |
| 35 | 3.6 |
| ≥39 | 4.0 |
Here are answers for the first midterm.
