Here you'll find postings about homework, exams, and anything else that becomes relevant during the quarter.
New! Solutions for the final practice problems are available here, and Homework 9 is still available here.
Classes are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9:30am--10:20am, in 246 MEB (Mechanical Engineering Building).
C-417 Padelford Hall: Monday and Tuesday, 1--2pm.
We will use Elementary Linear Algebra, 6th ed., by Larson and Falvo.
Homework will be assigned via WebAssign. Here's a quick introduction to how to use it.
In general, assignments will be due on Wednesday mornings, but check the schedule below as the quarter progresses.

The dates for the midterm and final exams are as follows:
| Small Midterm: | Friday, October 29 | 9:55 - 10:20am (half class) | MEB 246 |
| Big Midterm: | Monday, November 22 | 9:30 - 10:20am (whole class) | MEB 246 |
| Final Exam: | Wednesday, December 15 | 8:30am-10:20am | MEB 246 |
Practice Midterm 1 is available as this PDF. Solutions are here.
Solutions to Midterm 1 are available here.
Practice Midterm 2 is available as this PDF. Solutions are here.
Solutions to Midterm 2 are available here.
Final practice problems are available here.
| Small Midterm: | 10% |
| Big Midterm: | 4% |
| Final Exam: | 36% |
| Homework: | 40% + 10% |
Also, the homework component will be computed out of a total of 90%. This means that if there are a total of 100 points, and you score 72, your homework grade is 72/90 = 80%. (I'm doing this instead of dropping a lowest homework.)
Due to the snow disruption of the "Big Midterm", grades have been redistributed. The above "90%" calculation of the homework grade applies only to the WebAssign homework. (The final assignment could be considered as a take-home component of the exam.)
