Homework 2: Read Chapter 2 in Apostol and do exercises 1.28,2.6,2.7,2.11,2.12,2.15. (In exercises 2.6 and 2.7, you are asked to
"generalize to arbitrary unions and intersections". You need only write down the appropriate generalizations without giving a proof.)
This assignment is due Wednesday, October 10.

Homework 8: Read Sections 4.21-3 in Apostol and then do exercises 4.55,4.62,4.63,4.64. In exercise 4.55, assume that A is a subset of S and that
f is a uniformly continuous function from A to T. You may also assume problem 4.54---it's easy to prove, and you should be able to prove it, but
you needn't write out the proof. This assignment is due Wednesday, December 5.
