Textbook Calculus, Stewart, 6th Edition, Volume 1. This is a custom edition available in the University Bookstore. There is also a CoursePak available. It is basically a printout of the Math 124 Website. You do not need to buy it. It will save you the trouble of printing the HW assignments and practice exams. Topics The detailed syllabus is on the Math 124 Website. Grading There will be two midterms, one final exam, weekly homework assignments, quizzes and worksheets. The midterms are 25% each, the final is 35%. The worksheets are 5%, homework assignments 5% and quizzes 5% of your total grade. Late homework is not accepted. I will drop your lowest homework grade. Week at a glance Lectures are on MWF. On Tuesdays you will do a worksheet in your quiz section. It is your responsibility to bring your worksheet to section. If you finish early, you can ask questions and/or start working on your next homework assignment. There will also be a short quiz at the beginning of each class. On Thursdays, you will discuss your HW problems due the next day in your quiz section. You should go to Thursday’s sections prepared to participate in class discussion. Try to do as much as you can from your HW before Thursday. On Fridays I will collect the HW in class. See below for the specific dates and assignments. |
