Taylor Polynomials and Series are in Sections 11.10 and 11.11 of Stewart. However, we are not doing the rest of Chapter 11. Stewart does the topics in reverse– series first and then polynomials. So you may want to wait until we finish TN 1-5 before looking at the book.

Section 11.10 Taylor and Maclaurin Series

McLaurin series is Taylor series with b=0. Ignore division of series and binomial series. You can do problems 5-10, 11-16, 19, 20, 35-43, 54-58 and 61-65. (Correct to k decimal places means the error is less than 5*10^(-k-1).)

Section 11.11 Applications of Taylor Polynomials

Ignore the section on applications to physics. You can do problems 3-10, 13-21 parts (a) and (b), 23-26.
