Textbook and Homework

The textbook is Linear Algebra with Applications by Jeffrey Holt. You will submit your assignments online through webassign. You login with your UWNetID. You have to purchase the access code, either online or through the UW Bookstore. The assignments will show up eight days before they are due.

Grading

There will be two midterms, one final exam and homework assignments. The homework assignments are 15%, midterms are 50% and the final is 35% of your grade. I do not grant extensions on homework assignments. The exams grades will be posted in https://catalyst.uw.edu.

Solutions to Midterm 2

If you feel comfortable with the material we are covering and would like a more theoretical approach check out Linear Algebra Done Wrong. It talks about vector spaces other than Rn. Topics overlap up to Chapter 5, Section 3.

Do you keep your laptop on during lectures? It may not be a good idea.

Review

Here is Review 3, covering Sections 81., 8.2 and 8.5 after the second midterm. Also, look at the reviews for the midterms and make sure you can do all of the types of problems named in the Applications part using the tools in the Operations. If you need to, review the relevant sections and do some practice from the book.

If you can get through this set of questions, you are good to go for the final exam! Here are the answers.
