Here are all the old announcements from this quarter. The most recent ones show up on the main page.
I've posted solutions to today's worksheet and challenge question on the materials page. Quiz 2 is now open; it asks about today's material. We didn't discuss semistable equilibrium solutions in class, but you can find the definition in one of your HW problems for 2.5 (and they are exactly what they sound like).
Are you hoping to get into this class? Read the "overloads" section of the syllabus to find out what you should do. I won't be admitting more than 50 students, but you still have a couple days to try to get in. For real-time enrollment information, click on the "Enrollment Summary" link in the upper right corner of the time schedule page.
In HW 1, you are sometimes asked to draw a slope field. In my opinion, it's fine if you do this on a computer. You can use this tool if you want. Just make a sketch of the resulting picture in your homework assignment.
Hello and welcome to Math 307N! Class starts on Wednesday, September 25. Austin Roberts will be substituting for me on 9/25 and 9/27 while I'm traveling for a conference. I will return on Monday, 9/30. There will be no overloads in this class, but keep checking the enrollment summary because things will move around a lot. Be sure to read the syllabus. The official text for this class is Edition 10 of Boyce and DiPrima's book, but you can use Edition 9 with no problem at all. I even tell you which changes to make in the assignments on the "Homework" page. I'll be in touch by email until I get back, and let me know if you have any questions.
