Exams

You have two midterm exams and one final exam. You also have some little web quizzes throughout the quarter, and there is a note about them below.

Rules for exams

  • You may use one sheet of notes, in your own handwriting.
  • You may use a simple scientific calculator.
  • You may not use a calculator that can graph or do symbolic manipulation, nor a phone or any other electronic device.
  • No make-up exams! If you have an emergency and need to miss an exam, your remaining exams will be weighted more heavily to make up for the missed one.
  • Don't cheat. If I see that you didn't follow the rules, I will report you to the university.

Web quizzes through Catalyst

There are eight web quizzes scattered throughout the quarter. Each quiz will be available a few days before its due date, as indicated on the calendar. You'll get instant feedback on your answers, but they won't be graded for a score. If you complete at least seven of the quizzes before the due date, you get 100% of the quiz points (3/3). If you do at least five of the quizzes, you will get 2/3 points, and if you do at least three quizzes you'll get 1/3 points. Zero, one, or two quizzes completed gives you no points. The quizzes close at 3:15PM on the days specified on the calendar, so do them on time. These quizzes are a great opportunity for you to test your knowledge in a pressure-free setting.
