Math 307A • Spring Quarter 2013
Here you can find important in-class and supplementary materials.
Week 6:
I've mentioned these before in the announcements, but I should just give you a link. Another 307 instructor, Nathan Grigg, made some fabulous video lessons for his 307 class, and he kindly allowed me to share them with you. I highly recommend that you check them out if you'd like to see some helpful and clear examples. Click here for the full list. Enjoy!
Week 5:
Here's the worksheet from class on Friday 5/3, with some solutions courtesy of Austin Roberts.
Week 4:
In case you're interested, here is a proof of Euler's formula for exponentiating imaginary numbers (from class on 4/26). It uses Taylor series from Math 126 and it isn't hard at all. You won't be tested on this, but it is pretty cool so you should check it out anyway.
Here are solutions to the first midterm on 4/22.
Week 2:
Here's the worksheet from class on Friday 4/12, with some solutions. And here is a solution to the more difficult example I suggested you try after the worksheet.
Week 1:
You might like to use this slope field generator by my colleague Nathan Grigg. You are free to use it on your homework, just remember to turn in a sketch of the picture you get. Or program your own!
Here is the course syllabus.
Here are some practice problems for 125 review, by Gautam Sisodia.
Do you want to use the eigth edition of Boyce & DiPrima for this class? It is possible, but do so at your own risk. Professor Hart Smith compiled a list of changes between the eigth and ninth editions of the book, and you can find it here. You are responsible for turning in the right homework problems.
