Text: Manfredo P. do Carmo, Differential Geometry of Curves and Surfaces
Topics: Using tools of multivariable and vector calculus to study local and global geometric properties of curves and surfaces in 3-space (most of Chapters 1-4 of the textbook).
Problem sessions: Some (not all) Thursdays, 2:30-3:30, Padelford C-36, dates to be announced.
Prerequisite: Either 2.0 in MATH 335, or 2.0 in MATH 326 and 2.0 in MATH 328 and 2.0 in either MATH 308 or 2.0 in MATH 318. (See syllabus for more detailed prerequisites.)
