Local and global aspects of some geometric moduli spaces
There are two seemingly different problems which turn
out to be intimately intertwined: these concern the
existence, nature and moduli of solutions to the singular
Yamabe problem, or of complete constant mean curvature
surfaces in Euclidean or hyperbolic space. I will discuss
some of the basic results for each of these problems, then
discuss in more detail some recent existence theory
for constant mean curvature surfaces.
