Math 126, Spring 2013

Announcements

  • Midterm 1 is April 25 in section.

Some info about our class. Note: some of the following will use MathJax to enable real-time rendering of mathematical content. If you are using Internet Explorer (I only tested version 9, which you should be using anyway), you may be prompted to approve an ActiveX control; please do so or the math will not show up properly.

  • The lectures have are bundled into a single AJAX website. You can find links to lecture slideshows and printable pdfs if you want to take notes on them.
  • Here's the syllabus.
  • We will follow Dr. Taggart's masterfully constructed schedule.
  • Here's a link to webassign student support in case you have any questions.
  • Some aspects of the course will be administered through Catalyst, others through Canvas.
  • Soon you will find a link here to our scintillating GoPost forum.

Info about the lectures

  • Lectures are built using Deck.js for the slide template and Three.js for 3D rendering. Choose a lecture from the dropdown list on the lecture site and click the "Web" button to load the content. Important note: the demos work best with WebGL, which is currently best-supported in Chrome 16 (or later) and Firefox 9 (or later). For the best experience, please use one of these browsers. In particular, neither Safari nor Internet Explorer currently implement WebGL. Sorry!
  • I have also included PDFs on the site so you don't have to print them yourself. Select the lecture from the dropdown and click the "PDF" button.
  • As stated above, all of the lectures are now packaged as a single site. This is continuously under development. We will be adding and modifying several features during the quarter, so the site content could change from day to day. Please send me comments if something weird happens!
