Week 7 is devoted to the remainder of Chapter 3: Sections 3.9, 3.10.

• Many application problems involve two or more quantities that change with respect to time. If we can initially relate these changing quantities by an equation, then we can differentiate the equation to relate the rates of change of the quantities. Section 3.9 will focus on problems of this sort, so-called "related rates" problems.
• The tangent line to a curve at a given point leads to a useful "linear approximation" technique studied in Section 3.10. More problems on this topic also occur in the week 8 homework.
• The worksheet involves a parametrized motion problem.
