How to access the problems in Stewart 6th Edition

The custom edition of the Calculus text by Stewart used at the University of Washington is based on the 6th edition of "Calculus: Early Transcendentals" by Stewart.

If you own the 5th edition of "Calculus: Early Transcendentals" by Stewart, you can still use that text during the 2008-09 academic year. However, it requires additional work on your part. Namely, you will need to access the textbook exercise sets in the 6th edition, since the 6th edition text is used for all textbook homework problems in Math 124/5/6 and 324. Here are the instructions on how to proceed:

Directions

  1. Go to uwcalculus.cengagesites.com
  2. Register (one time only; you do NOT need to enter any credit card info; it's all free of charge).
  3. Enter the Promo Code ICHP1258 in the box asking for a coupon code. "Apply code" when prompted.
  4. Proceed as though you were "purchasing" the exercises one chapter at a time. Again, you will not be charged or asked for credit card information.
  5. Click on "My Stuff" to find the "purchased" chapters. In order to view the pdf files with the exercises, you have to download an "Unsealer". The website will step you through this; you only have to do it once. The registration and the unsealing only have to be done once.
