Homework:  Homework problems will be assigned weekly.  The assignment can be obtained from the  Calendar/Announcements-section below and will NOT be announced in class.

 

Worksheets:  You will do worksheets every week except for the midterm weeks during the TA session.  BRING A COPY of the worksheet you will be working on to class each Thursday. You can download worksheets here.

 

Quizzes: There will be a 20 minute quiz every week on the Tuesday TA session with the exception of the 1st week of the class, and Midterm weeks.

 

Exams: There will be two midterm exams and a final exam.

     First midterm is scheduled for Thursday 4/19 .

     Second midterm is scheduled for Thursday 5/10.

     Final Exam will be on Saturday, June 2nd 1:30-4:20.

Grades: Course grades will be computed on the following basis:

Homework 6%, Worksheets 4%, Quizzes 10%, Midterms 25% each, Final exam 30%

Calculator and notes policy in exams. A scientific calculator will be required. Graphing calculators are NOT allowed.  No notes are allowed on quizzes. One 8 x 11.5 sheet of handwritten notes is allowed on the midterms (one side) and on the final exam (both sides ok). In each of homework assignments, quizzes, midterms and final exams you have to show all your work and support your reasoning in order to get full credit.

Calendar/Announcements:

 

6/7/2007:    Course grades for Section A and Section B. I will be holding office hours today from 12-2pm and on

                    Friday from 11-1pm if you would like to come by. Contact your TA in order to pick up your final 

                    exam.

 

5/24/2007: Final Exam is scheduled for June 2, 2007 at 1:30 KNE 130.  This will be a closed  book exam

                   (see calculator-notes policy above). You can find old Final Exams here (read warning first).

 

5/22/2007: Please check with your TA that all your scores (on Midterms, quizzes, HWs) are recorded accurately.

 

5/13/2007: The last set of homework problems is now posted here. Unfortunately, we can not grade HW #8, #9 

                   and #10 but you are expected to work through this material before the final exam.

 

5/2/2007:   Homework 7 is now posted here and it is due on Monday May 14.

 

5/1/2007:   Our second midterm is scheduled for Thursday 5/10 during TA Section and will cover sections 

                  10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 12.4, 12.5, 12.6, 13.1, 13.2, 13.3, 13.4, 14.1, 14.3 from Stewart. This will be a closed
