Text: Introduction to Linear Algebra (5th Edition) by Johnson, Reiss and
Arnold. We will cover (most of) Chapters 1, 3 and 4.
Lectures: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
10:30-11:20 (Math 308D) and 11:30-12:20 (Math 308E) in CMU B006.
Exams: There will be two midterm exams and
a final exam.
- The first midterm is scheduled for Oct
19th.
- The second midterm is scheduled for Nov
16th.

Homework: Homework assignments are due on
Wednesdays at the beginning of class (see homework Schedule below). Each
student must turn in his/her own assignment.

Schedule
Grades: Course grades will be computed on
the following basis:
- Homework 15%,
- Midterms 20% each,
- Final exam 45%.
Calculator and notes policy in
exams. Calculators are NOT allowed. One 8 x 11.5
sheet of handwritten notes is allowed on the midterms (one side) and on the
final exam (both sides ok). In each of homework assignments, midterms and final
exams you have to show all your work and support your reasoning in order
to get full credit.
