Text: Introduction to Linear Algebra (5th Edition) by Johnson,
Reiss and Arnold. We will cover (most of) Chapters 1, 3 and 4.
Lectures: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 12:30-1:20 (Math 308D) and
1:30-2:20 (Math 308E) in MGH 231.
Exams: There will be two midterm exams and a final exam.
- The first midterm is
scheduled for Friday Feb1st.
- The second midterm is
scheduled for Friday Feb 29th.
- Final Exam :
Math 308D :
MARCH 20, 2008, 830-1020 in MGH 231.
Math 308E :
MARCH 17, 2008, 230-420 in MGH 231.
Homework:
Homework assignments are due on Wednesdays at the beginning of class (see
homework Schedule below). Each student must turn in his/her own assignment.

Grades: Course grades will be computed on the following basis:
- Homework 15%,
- Midterms 20% each,
- Final exam 45%.
Calculator
and notes policy in exams.
Calculators are NOT allowed. One 8 x 11.5 sheet of handwritten notes is
allowed on the midterms (one side) and on the final exam (both sides ok). In
each of homework assignments, midterms and final exams you have to show
all your work and support your reasoning in order to get full credit.
