Applying for a Degree

Students must file an application for the bachelor's degree. An advisor in C-36 Padelford will assist you in completing your application. Recommended time for filing the application is three quarters in advance of the quarter in which you plan to graduate. This gives time to make sure requirements will be met and to clear any deficiencies. For late filing, the second Friday of the quarter in which you plan to graduate is the last day an application may be filed routinely. Late filing does not allow time for the student to make up any deficiencies. Every year, a number of students must postpone graduation because of failure to correct deficiencies until after the application is reviewed. The Graduations Office accepts applications until Friday of the third week of the quarter. This requires special processing and is not recommended. In general, a student may graduate under the requirements of the current catalog. Students may, however, fulfill graduation requirements of the catalog in effect at the time they entered the school or college from which they are to graduate, provided that (a) not more than ten years have elapsed since the student's entry and (b) the school or college and department agree that the student may graduate under the earlier requirements.
